Diabetes Camp Financial Assistance

in

Bret Michaels’ Life Rocks Foundation is now accepting 2014 applications to send children with diabetes to summer camp.

At the age of 6 years old Bret was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (juvenile diabetes) and remains committed to not only helping to find a cure for the disease, but also to educate adults and children on how to manage diabetes in an effort to live a productive life.

Bret’s mission is simple:

“To help children learn how to monitor and control their blood sugar, to not let the disease control them. Just let kids go be kids, let them make new friends and relate to other kids going through the same thing they are, helping them to realize they aren’t alone”.

The Bret Michaels’ Life Rocks Foundation attempts to send as many children to camp as possible each year. However, they advise you to submit your child’s application quickly as these camps tend to fill up fast. To have your child considered for this opportunity, choose a diabetes camp in your area that is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, fill out the camp’s registration forms, and then scan the forms and e-mail them with the subject line “diabetes camp application” to patrick@michaelsnation.com. Be sure to include your name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. Once your forms have been reviewed, you will be contacted by the foundation with further information.
